Jessica & Richard’s Elegant Autumn Wedding

Jessica & Richard’s Elegant Autumn Wedding

When Jessica and Richard imagined their wedding, they envisioned a day covered in elegance and full of natural, lush greenery. And on October 5, 2018, they got everything they dreamed of and more when they tied the knot at Springton Manor Farm. We loved helping Jessica and Richard start their happily ever after in a beautiful way.

“Welcome to Our Beginning”

Despite the crisp fall air, the farm was still a gorgeous green on the big day, which made for striking views from both the ceremony and reception sites. As guests entered Springton Manor, they passed by a personalized wooden sign welcoming guests to the wedding. 129 of the couple’s closest friends gathered together and enjoyed water, lemonade and iced tea while they waited for the festivities to start.

A Lovely Ceremony Under the Linden Tree

The ceremony took place under our 200-year-old Linden tree. The green countryside was rich and lovely—particularly when contrasted with the marine blue gowns the bridesmaids wore. The ladies carried stunning bouquets of peach and yellow roses, burgundy dahlias, white poppies and assorted greenery, which added more rich color and life to the striking scene.

Richard and his groomsmen were dressed smartly in blue three-piece suits and light blue ties. But of course, no one was dressed quite as beautifully as Jessica, whose spaghetti strapped gown was covered from top to bottom in lace. Some of her hair was tied back in a braid accented with baby’s breath, while she wore the rest in loose curls.

The ceremony under the tree was an incredibly romantic affair, complete with vows, rings and the promise of love forevermore. Soon, Richard and Jessica were officially husband and wife, and it was time to celebrate!

A Classy Cocktail Hour

Before transitioning to the reception site—a lighted, open tent overlooking a gorgeous view of the farm—guests took a little time to chat with one another over cocktails. While Richard, Jessica and their bridal party posed for photos and prepared themselves for the reception, our team was working with our vendor partners to make sure everyone was having a great time.

Bartenders from 13th Street Cocktails offered guests libations while they mingled and snacked on hors d’oeuvres made by Queen of Hearts catering, one of the exclusive caterers here at Springton Manor Farm. The passed hors d’oeuvres included:

  • Philly Steak Spring Rolls
  • Scallops Wrapped in Bacon
  • Mini Chicken Tacos
  • Brie and Raspberry Fillo
  • Shrimp Cocktail Shooters
  • Asparagus Asiago Wrapped in Fillo

Delightful Dining Experience

Once everyone arrived at the reception tent, found their table and took their seats, it was time to turn up the fun—and for a wedding like this one, that meant music, drink and lot of great food! Guests started with a harvest salad with cranberries, feta cheese, toasted almonds and citrus vinaigrette.

For the main course, Richard and Jessica selected three delicious dishes for their guests to choose from:

  • Grilled beef medallions with wild mushrooms and shallots in marsala sauce
  • Blackened red snapper with grilled pineapple in orange sauce
  • A stack of grilled eggplant, pepper and zucchini with mozzarella and a charred pepper vinaigrette

What’s a reception without touching words—and of course, dancing! Every moment shared under the reception tent was truly touching. Guests were sure to make use of the tent’s roomy dance floor.

The evening’s feast concluded with a striking cake and cupcake tower. The cake was covered in light blue dripped frosting and assorted peach florals, while the white and peach frosting matched the wedding color palette. Guests enjoyed cake and coffee served from our beautiful samovars.
