Discover the History of The Manor House at Springton Manor Farm

Historically, manor houses were royal in a sense, serving as a home for the lord and lady of the manor, which then were categorized as the grounds of a large complex like the farm.

The Manor House at Springton Farm is no different, as it was originally constructed as one of the largest manors for William Penn and his family. William Penn famously founded the state of Pennsylvania and plays a rich part in our history.

Since its inception in the 1700s, The Manor House and the surrounding property have been operational as a working farm that now also serves as an educational resource for Chester County in addition to a serene wedding venue.

As one of the most secluded and private wedding venues near the city, you’re so close, yet you feel eons away from the hustle and bustle of Philadelphia surrounded by nature.

The Manor’s features include a sprawling wrap-around porch reminiscent of the historic era in which it was built paired with stunning gold sconces inside and unique external features like the dormer windows that transport you to another time.

With the historic nature also come updated amenities that make your manor house wedding comfortable for you and your guests! The manor is connected via a covered walkway to the tented reception area—perfect for an outdoor celebration on a sunny or rainy day.

Ceremony & Event Space Options

The start of any stunning wedding day is the backdrop. At Springton Manor Farm, we have a few options for you when it comes to selecting a location for each and every part of your big day, from ceremony to reception.

Century-old linden tree

This stately, historic natural landmark is the most popular ceremony location on the property due to the grandiose backdrop it provides as couples start their new lives together.

Perennial Gardens

The gardens are filled with beautiful blooms, plenty of greenery and a dedicated aisle for the dreamiest wedding ceremony entrance! This unique area is tented, providing the perfect cover for any weather and ensuring nothing comes between you and your “I Do’s.” The tent has a romantic gazebo on one side, which is mirrored by the sprawling green hillside on the other; you may choose either option for your ceremony entrance and backdrop depending on your preference!

Walnut Grove

While outdoors, the walnut grove exudes the feeling of a “real” event space, naturally enclosed by the magnificent beech trees. This exclusivity lends itself well to a ceremony or cocktail hour to begin the day’s celebrations.

Reception Tent

The towering white tent adjacent to The Manor House is available from April through October and doesn’t require a rain location even though nature is surrounding you with the open walls of the tent—it is the best of both worlds in terms of a wedding reception location. The tent is nestled between The Manor House and a smaller 20′ x 30′ tent, all of which are interconnected with covered walkways. The smaller tent or Manor House are ideal for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres so the guests can easily flow to the main reception tent.
