It Starts With the Perfect Outdoor Philadelphia Wedding Venue

Many couples dream of an outdoor wedding in an idyllic setting, and the first step to the perfect outdoor wedding is the perfect venue! Springton Manor Farm is an oasis close to the city yet far enough removed that you’ll feel like the cares of the world are a world away on your big day. Situated on 300 acres of lush farmland, outdoor weddings are our specialty, with plenty of space to host your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception on-site, among nature!

With so many tips on how to make your outdoor wedding unique, we figured we’d round up some of our favorite tips!

10 Ideas to Enhance Your Outdoor Philadelphia Wedding

Custom-Made Wood Signage

One perfect way to infuse the outdoors into your big day is to use natural décor elements to enhance the outdoor ambiance. These gorgeous wood signs will welcome your guests with greenery and florals, point the way to all the events for the evening as well as showcase your love and personalities!

Natural Surroundings as a Palette

With so much nature surrounding you at Springton Manor Farm, it would be a shame not to use it to showcase your love story! We love this fun idea to add a little twinkle to the day with string lights wrapped around a tree, showcasing photos from every phase of your relationship. Consider also hanging framed shots from the branches!

Romantic Lighting

With an outdoor wedding, you want people to be able to continue enjoying the celebration after the sun goes down. Beyond the dreamy aesthetic, we love using gorgeous bulb lighting strategically placed around the tent and gazebo areas of the property so that guests can ease into a night under the stars with romantic lights surrounding them.

Farmhouse-Inspired Setups

Springton Manor Farm lends itself perfectly to a farmhouse-style rustic wedding, with perfect inspiration from our historic 1700s farmhouse mansion on-site. Get a little creative with your seating by using our newest addition, custom-made farmhouse tables. The gorgeous natural wood is effortlessly enhanced with beautiful centerpieces and colorful napkins and really adds character to your big day!

Say “I Do” Among Nature

Your outdoor wedding certainly wouldn’t be complete without an outdoor ceremony to kick off your matrimony. We have three outdoor ceremony locations available on-site for you to choose from depending on what fits you and your fiancé best. Options include the iconic century-old linden tree, colorful tented perennial gardens or secluded walnut grove!

Cocktails in the Sunshine

After you say your vows, it’s time to get the party started! Guests always love an outdoor cocktail hour, and the outdoor locations you don’t select for your ceremony are fantastic choices for this part of your celebration. We’ll pass hors d’oeuvres on rustic wooden trays, and we can even add enhancements like our Americana-inspired camper bar or wood-fired pizza oven for extra character!

A Little Friendly Competition

At Springton Manor Farm, we get a lot of questions on how to best make use of the expansive space available to couples for their big day. One of our top recommendations is a little friendly competition in the form of lawn games!

Consider getting custom cornhole boards made for your big day, so you can remember it every time you break out the boards for fun celebrations.

Oh Starry Night… Reception Under the Stars

Our magnificent reception tent located adjacent to the house is ideal for receptions of all sizes, and it also ensures there’s no stop to the party if there’s a little rain! When the sides are up, you can admire the starry night sky for miles in the distance.

Getting Toasty with Fire Pits & S’mores

Most people have fond memories of summer nights spent with family and friends over a bonfire, roasting s’mores. It’s a time to slow down, enjoy the company, tell stories and sip on a beverage under the stars, all while roasting up your very own s’mores. At Springton Manor Farm, we have elegant fire pits near the reception tent that allow guests to flow from reception to sweet treats on the lawn in an instant.

Late-Night Snacks

If you and your fiancé are foodies, wow your guests with fun outdoor late-night munchies at the end of the reception. A local favorite is our partner Wizwit Catering. We partner with them to set up shop towards the end of the evening to serve up authentic Philly cheesesteaks that taste like they’re straight from Jim’s on South Street—we’ve even had some brides whip up their own, dress and all!
